What is learning process?

"Learning Process" is most misunderstood things in this world. Why do I say like this. It is because it is not just getting good marks in your exams, but it is understanding world around you in totality. Nobody today cares for this. I will explain this with a very short example.

Suppose there is one student studying in 5th standard and he is told some elementary thing in a subject. In this there might be two scenarios. In first scenario, student is able to visualize that concept in his mind and so that concept gets fixed in his memory. In other scenario, he might not be able to visualize the concept told by his or her, teacher. In this case what happens. He asks teacher to explain that fact again. Teacher might give him a reply, that "you would be able to see the big picture of this concept when you go to higher class".

Now what happens, student takes the word of teacher and tries to memorize the fact told, without being able to visualize that concept. This scenario happens lot of times with lot of students. They are unable to see the bigger picture of the simple concepts, and just try to memorize facts.

Now we come to the question - Is this correct way of Learning process? The answer according to me is "No". Why because until and unless a student is unable to visualize a fact in his mind, it would not be registered in his memory. Student can score good marks in examination but learning process remains incomplete.
